Transformation towards sustainability
Zeppelin convinces with the professional atmosphere of the "Recycling active and civil engineering live"
Sustainability was the common thread that ran through the double trade fair "Recycling active and civil engineering live" at the end of April. Solutions were in demand for the careful use of resources in the sense of the circular economy. The range on offer at the trade fair convinced 10,000 visitors from over twenty countries, who came to Karlsruhe to find out about the latest industry trends from more than 260 manufacturers, dealers and service providers. "We are particularly satisfied with the quality of the discussions we had with interested parties," said Marc Kallies, Zeppelin branch manager and stand manager, summing up the trade fair participation. "There was a relaxed but at the same time technically good atmosphere, which is helpful for delving deeper into the topics."
The double fair was used to expand business relationships and customer contacts, to present the range of products and services tailored to the respective industry requirements, and to achieve sales. “It was very worthwhile for us to take part. Because we were also able to record sales successes during the trade fair and we hope that further business will follow from the many needs and that customers will continue to place their trust in us," explained Marc Kallies.
The Baden-Württemberg Transport Minister Winfried Hermann, patron of the double trade fair, emphasized in connection with his visit: "Both the civil engineering industry and the recycling industry are in the midst of a major transformation. Recycling is becoming increasingly important and the processes are becoming increasingly sophisticated and meaningful. In all areas of construction, we are increasingly coming into a circular economy. This is also necessary in order to save energy and material, so the two trade fairs are also very closely related thematically and have a common goal: they want to help protect environmental resources and the climate with new processes.”
Members of the associations VDBUM, VDMA, BDSV and the Baden-Württemberg Garden, Landscaping and Sports Field Construction Association stopped by Zeppelin during their tour of the stand. Like other visitors, they informed themselves about the exhibits for material handling. One of the key devices presented was a Cat MH3022 with an operating weight of 24.5 tons, which is predestined to perform sorting tasks. Visitors to Karlsruhe saw a Cat MH3024 during a live demo handling scrap and metal and handling wood and biomass. The practical machine demonstration gave visitors an understanding of innovations for use in their own operations. Tracked excavators like the Cat 330 equipped with a P324 pulverizer were demonstrated live by Zeppelin in the arena for attachments. Because that is the key to successful value creation: separating and sorting. The appropriate tools such as demolition shears, sorting and polyp grabs and a sieve shovel were also represented accordingly.
Even though the focus of the exhibits at the trade fair was on excavators, Zeppelin also provided information on the latest wheel loader technology. A Cat 950M and the compact version in the form of the Cat 908 in the high-lift version were presented as examples of efficient material handling. The ZM110, which was also presented, fell into the “latest development” category. Zeppelin used it to master a wide range of civil engineering tasks with the new wheeled excavator and its numerous optional features.
“Recycling aktiv und Tiefbau live” was also dedicated to young professionals to show how exciting the working environment in the industry, but also in connection with construction machinery, can be. Master bricklayer and influencer "Tschulique" and a group of schoolgirls and trainees were shown construction machines and their technical features during a tour of the stand on Girl's Day - far removed from all gender clichés. For them, there was an insight into everyday work in sales and service, up close and personal from the trade fair.
