When was the last time you perused the collection of kitchen faucets at the local home improvement store? There are literally hundreds of different faucets to choose from. Picking the right one can seem overwhelming. Here are a few tips to help you find the right faucet for your home.

Choices include shiny and matte, plastic, chrome, stainless steel and even gold or bronze finishes. Deciding on the right one can be difficult. The easiest way to choose a metal and finish is to consider what else is going in the kitchen. A porcelain sink might look best with a crisp, white faucet.

Steve Silver Co. names David Corbin chief operating officer

DALLAS — Casual dining and occasional importer Steve Silver Co. has named David R. Corbin as its chief operating officer.

He will report to the company’s board of directors.

“I have known David for several years and we have a lot of respect for his leadership and vision,” company President Steve Silver said in a press release.

No, they aren’t made of spaghetti, nor are they stringy surgery garb. They’re cleanup tools made from corn cobs (coarse scrubbing),  peach pits (gentle scrubbing)  & walnut shell  material.

Goodbye Detergent! the company that makes Spaghetti Scrubs, aims to reduce the amount of detergents used in cleaning cookware & dishes.

These guys are naturally abrasive, dry quickly (no stink microbes can take root), last for months,  and come in 100% recyclable packaging.

Apparently, soap hangs out awhile on these things – a little goes a long way, as they say – so when you do use it you don’t need much.

IKEA’s Interactive YouTube Game Rewards Players With Products And Boosts Summer Sales [Video]

As summer is usually a slow period for IKEA in Belgium they asked agency Forsman & Bodenfors to come up with an interactive campaign highlighting its summer offers and the Swedish tradition of Midsummers Eve. The interactive YouTube game Catch the Swedish Light was made up of 48 different ads featuring IKEA products filmed in a typical Swedish barn.

Codes would appear in the top right corner of the frame when a beam of light hit a particular product and viewers had to try and pause the video in the right place to find it. Then they could enter a competition by typing in the code and if they were the first person theyd win that product.

Do-it-yourself art projects, especially abstracts, seem to adorn the walls of every stylish home. I wanted to try something myself, but wildly splashing paint onto a canvas seemed a bit daunting. So, I made a simple color-blocked painting with text for added personality for my guest half bath. Follow along to see how I made it.
